Francis Volpe has embarked on his second musical career. Back in the previous century, he played bass guitar, wrote songs, and sang in several rock groups. Today, he’s back performing as a singer-songwriter, bringing back some of the original songs from his first go-round and adding some newly written material to his repertoire. He also offers an eclectic selection of cover songs, some familiar, some less so, but all chosen to entertain.
Appearances
Francis is available for live performances in Pittsburgh-area venues that present solo acoustic performers. Recent shows include appearances at Ruckus Cafe in Shaler Township, Antonio's Pizzaria in Brookline, Fresh Start Cafe in Canonsburg, Steamworks Creative in Gibsonia, Sullivan's Bar and Restaurant in Somerset, and multiple appearances at the Starlite Lounge in Blawnox as part of the venue's weekly Singer-Songwriter Invitational.
A full-band arrangement of Francis's original song "Pumpkin Spice Haunts My Dreams" will appear on the annual compilation album by the Pittsburgh Songwriters Circle, 2025 edition. The album will be released by the end of 2025 and will be available for download and streaming in all the usual places. A limited number of hardcopy editions will be published on CD as well.
